Elevated Radon Levels? We've Got You Covered

Ohio is the fourth-highest state in the country when it comes to radon exposure*, making it imperative that you have your home tested for radon. Many counties we serve are above the EPA’s action level for radon exposure.

If your home has been tested and has elevated levels of radon, we can help.  Our licensed Radon Mitigation Specialist will develop a custom plan to reduce the level of radon in your home.  The process starts with an in-home consultation, where we will inspect your home for possible radon entry points and complete diagnostic testing so we can tailor a mitigation plan specific to your home.  Sandusky Bay Inspections LLC specializes in designing custom mitigation systems with the health and safety of your family in mind. The EPA has an action level of 4.0 pCi/L, however we strive to get your radon levels as low as possible, and many of our systems are often below 1.0 pCi/L.  Many systems can be installed in as little as one day.  The cost will vary based on the amount of work your home needs and the foundation type or types under your home.  Our mitigation systems are backed by a five-year guarantee.

No matter if your home has a slab, a crawlspace, or a basement, it can still have elevated levels of radon and pose a risk to you and your family.  We can help mitigate any of these foundation types.

radon-entry-into-buildings

Radon, a colorless and odorless gas, enters homes through cracks and gaps in the foundation, such as:

  • Cracks in floors and walls: These openings provide direct pathways for radon to enter.
  • Sumps and drains: These can act as entry points, especially if they are not properly sealed.
  • Construction joints: Gaps between concrete slabs or foundation walls can allow radon to seep in.
  • Cavities in solid masonry walls: These can provide hidden channels for radon to migrate.

Once inside, radon can accumulate in basements, crawl spaces, and other enclosed areas of the home.
